Visa Requirement for Overseas guests

Please confirm with the embassy for visa requirement.

  1. Time
    Set your time to GMT +7. (Jakarta has the same time as Bangkok, Thailand).
  2. At the Airport
    •Arrived in Soekarno Hatta International Airport, as usual, you will be checked in immigration gate.
    •From immigration area, you will entrance to baggage claim area.
    •In this area, you can find a Taxi Counter: Blue Bird or Silver Bird. Please check your name on the list, and then you can order the taxi (according to the capacity of taxicabs). Get the map/sketch of the meeting place (Yasmin Bogor) from the counter, and use it as a reference.

Guide Along the Way to BHI

From Airport to Bogor (about 70 KM), can be done in 2 ways:

  1. Using a taxi through the toll road.
    During the trip, you will find the 4 (four) toll booths:
    •First Gate: Toll Gate Sedyatmo, pay IDR 12.000
    •Second Gate: Gate toll Cibubur, get a toll card
    •Third Gate: Exit at Sentul City toll gate, pay IDR 6.000
    •Fourth Gate: Sign on Gate to Bogor Lingkar Luar, pay IDR 3.500
  2. For your convenience, you can give the entire fee to the taxi driver and allow him to arrange the payment. From the last toll gate, you will see the intersection with the traffic light. Go straight following the road until meet a traffic light at the junction then turn left and you've entered Taman Yasmin area. On the left you will see Giant Hypermarket of Taman Yasmin and Yasmin Harmony Centre. On the right you will see white colored building of BHI campus. Then turn around at the U-turn, about 100 m. From the U-turn will get the way named Jalan ke Kampus BHI on the left side then turn left after Ruko Taman Yasmin.

    Safety tips for taking a taxi at the airport and Jakarta.

    1. At the airport, never take transportation from Brokers who approach you offering transportation. This illegal transportation you take at your own risk. Aside from the taxi stands, the only licensed transportation companies have counters inside the arrival terminals. Their representatives wear uniforms with an ID.
    2. Use the Blue Bird Group counters At the airport regular taxi queue, you are supposed to take the first taxi in the queue, so it may not be possible to select a taxi of your choice. Taxis often refuse to use the meter, or invent other charges. If you feel apprehensive, take a Silver Bird which has an exclusive taxi stand at the airport. Blue Bird Group operates Silver Bird and Golden Bird limousine services from their counters in all the arrival terminals A, B, C, D, E, and F.
  3. Using a Damri airport bus to Bogor
    You just walked to the bus stop and wait until the Damri Airport Bus labeled BOGOR destination came then ride the bus. Attention do not ride wrong destination. It cost IDR 35.000, and the bus will stop at Baranangsiang Bogor Bus Station. After that walk to the Trans Pakuan bus stop (cost IDR 3.000) and stop at BHI / Harmony Centre bus stop, cross the road and walk through the way of Jalan Ke Kampus BHI.

Alternate routes to reach BHI campus by:

  1. Private Car/ Taxi: From Jakarta, Sukabumi, Puncak, Cianjur through Jagorawi toll road exit at Sentul City and go to Bogor Lingkar Luar Toll road. About 15 minutes will get to the Campus BHI. Toll charges from Jakarta already informed above. From Ciawi to Sentul City toll fee is IDR 1000 and Bogor Lingkar Luar Toll is IDR 3.000.
  2. Train: From Jakarta or Sukabumi using train stop at Bogor station, then walk to Taman Topi Square across the street, and ride public transportation colored green number 03 to Terminal Bubulak. From there ride public transportation colored blue number 32 to cibinong and stop at BHI / Curug Mekar. Public transportation tariff is IDR 2000.
  3. Bus: From Jakarta and other cities took a bus to Bogor destination and stopped at the Terminal Baranangsiang. After that walk across the street to the bus stop of Trans Pakuan then ride the bus (cost IDR 3.000) and stop at BHI / Harmony Centre bus stop, cross the road and walk through Jalan Ke Kampus BHI.

 

 

BOGOR @ GLANCE

You may have heard of the world-famous Bogor Botanic Garden in Java, Indonesia. This is Indonesia's first and foremost botanic garden and ranks amongst some of the most well known gardens in the world. The 87 hectares of beautifully kept trees, plants, flowers, lawns and ponds lie smack in the centre of Bogor, The gardens border the Presidential summer palace.
Bogor is about 60 km south of Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia and you will need only one hour to get to Jakarta as you can take a scenic toll road. It was an important hill station during Dutch times, from the 17th century. Today Bogor has almost become a suburb of Jakarta, but is a good base for nearby mountain walks. Its altitude is only 290m, but it is appreciably cooler than Jakarta. The hotel location is also close to south beach of west java, Palabuhan Ratu, popular beach for surfer. It is about 2,5 hours away. Some guests have motor bikes where they can get there almost every weekend and the Puncak tea plantation is about 45 minutes ride.

HISTORICAL VALUE SITES

Batu Tulis Inscription

The inscription was written using the "Kawi" letter (the old language of Java) by Surawisesa, the son of Pajajaran´s king. The kingdom was using it for raising Pajajaran´s King ceremonial under Prabu Siliwangi authority. The inscription is located on Batutulis street No.54, Bogor.

Bogor Palace

Known as Istana Bogor, this group of buildings is located on the northern side of Botanical Garden. The main building, Buitenzorg ("without a formality"), dated back in 1856 and was the official residence of the General Governor of the Dutch East Indies. After Indonesia´s Independence, it became a Presidential Palace most frequently visited by the first President Soekarno.

Botanical Garden

The Kebun Raya, 87 hectares of lawns, gardens, ponds, tree groves and avenues, is located in the center ofBogor beside Bogor Palace. It was founded by Prof. Dr. C.G.C Reinwardt, a German botanist working inIndonesia in the early 1800s. The garden is the oldest scientific institution in Bogor. Specimens of native plants have been collected not only from all over the Malay Archipelago but also from many other tropical regions.

Footprint Stone Site

Footprint Stone Site is the inheritance of Mahawarman King. In the peak of the hill there is an Ampar Stone with the size of 2 x 2 m.

 

ECOTOURISM SITES

Curug Cilember

Curug Cilember (Cilember waterfall) is located in Jogjogan Village, Cisarua, and 20km from Bogor. It has natural & beautiful scenery.

Curug 1000

Curug 1000 (1000 waterfall) is the beautiful waterfall to visit. It´s located in Salak Endah mountain area. The Waterfall height is less than 100 m.

Deer Conservation

This Deer Conservation is located in Buangjaya Village. It´s in the crossing of Cileungsi – Jonggol. There are many species of deer, like Axis deer, Java Deer (Timorensis) and Bawean Deer (Azis Kuhli).

Durian Warso farm

Seven years ago the farm owner started to plant seven species of Durians: Monthong, Petruk, Tembaga, Sunan, Lai, Aspar and Simas. You can enjoy a variety of Durian in this farm located in Cihideung Village, Cipelang.

Mekarsari Tour Garden

Mekarsari Tour Garden is located on Cileungsi – Jonggol street. The garden has thousands of fruit plants, especially from tropical areas. You can sight-seeing the garden by riding the "Kereta Gandeng" (small train), pick fruits, ride bicycle, do farming, gardening, camping, etc.

Pasir Mukti Tour Garden

Pasir Mukti Tour Garden offers many packages of agro tour. You can pick the fruits, fish, or see and learn how to plant orchids.

Safari Garden

Beyond Cisarua, there is Taman Safari, a safari park with zebras, elephants, lions, bears, etc. You finish your safari in a parking lot from which you can walk to a baby zoo, a huge play-ground and other attraction sites. There are also animal shows and a swimming pool.

Situ Gede

Situ Gede is located in Situ Gede Village, West Bogor. Situ Gede area is a rural place to visit. The Lake Waterspread out wide with the background of a luxuriant forests, making this place very potential as a tour object.

Talaga Warna

Lake Warna is the tour object located in Cisarua. The color of the lake changes as nature changes. Myth tells that anyone who washes his/her face with this water will look young forever.

Tea Plantation and Factory

The Gunung Mas estate in Tugu covers the steep slopes on the right hand side of the road going up to the Puncak from Bogor. You can drink Gunung Mas tea and buy export quality mountain tea. You can also go for walk in the tea plantation and children can ride horses.

Bogor Hotel Institute (BHI) has developed academic modules to exert its student’s skill with emphasis in communication skill, business etiquette, and profession knowledge in tourism and hotel management.

Museum

Museum PETA

Monument and museum of PETA were built on November 14th, 1993. Umar Wirahadikusumah, the Vice President of Indonesia, had an honor to put the first stone on this place. The museum was officially opened by H.M. Soeharto, the President of Indonesia, on December 18th, 1995.

Zoological Museum

The Zoological Museum on Juanda street No. 3 was founded in 1894 for the purpose of Indonesian fauna studies. This Institution, with a collection of about 300.000 specimens, has a representative display opened to public. There are dioramas showing animals from different environments as well as displays of insects, and the skeleton of a huge blue whale.
